All taxis are fitted with the latest technology including:
- Fitted alarm systems for driver safety;
- Security cameras;
- Satellite navigation; and
- Remote control booking acceptance.
To be eligible to apply for an Authority to Drive a Taxi Cab you must:
- have lived in Albury/Wodonga for at least 5 – 6 months;
- have held an unrestricted driver licence issued in any Australian state or territory, for a total of at least 12 months in the previous 2 years;
- are an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa allowing you to work in Australia;
- are at least 20 years old;
- are medically fit to drive a Passenger Transport Vehicle. To apply download a copy of the Application for a Passenger Transport Licence Code and submit through Services NSW (NSW Drivers only);
- Competent understanding of the English language;
- Have no criminal or serious driving offences; and
- Are a good fit for Albury Taxis.
To become a Bailee driver with the Albury Taxis network the following is compulsory:
- Complete a New Bailee Driver ID Card Application form
- Observe with an Owner/Operator – minimum 3 observations (additional training maybe required);
- Dispatch Training (SmartMove) – 2 hours;
- Local knowledge test – 1 hour; and
- Safety Management System Assessment – 15 minutes.
